I grew up in a Christian family. I went to church and youth group faithfully and read my Bible every day. But as much as I was excited about serving God with my life, there was something missing that I really struggled with...
I was missing other friends who were as excited about serving God as I was. I felt alone. I felt like there was no one else living for Jesus except for me. My youth group was very focused on evangelism, (which is obviously so important) but I just never felt like there was any event for me. For me to grow closer to God. For me to see that I wasn't alone. For me to have other Christians standing behind me and cheering me on.
Those feelings are exactly what inspired me to start Surge. I believe that there are other Christians who want to live lives that are sold out for Christ. I believe that it is so important for teenagers to feel like they have people cheering them on! Surge Teen Leadership Conference is designed to empower Christian teenagers from the New England area who are serious about their relationship with Jesus. It will give them a chance to network with other like-minded teens, learn from godly leaders, and make purposeful strategies on ways they can be used to change the world. The worship is designed to bring you into the presence of God and enjoy His love. The workshops are designed to help you grow in areas you need to grow, and push yourself to be better. My heart behind this conference is to give Christian teenagers from New England (and surrounding areas) a place to grow. A place to be inspired. And a place to connect with other teenagers who could become their friends for life.
This conference is about people. It's about people who seriously want to turn the world upside down for Christ. It's about believing that that is even possible. It's about understanding that we are better together, and that finding these connections can change everything. It's about being sick and tired of living a life for Jesus on the weekends and living for yourself on the week days. It's about living life to the full, exactly how Jesus planned it. It's about understanding that the Bible is sufficient for every single area of life, and it's about being willing to live that out no matter the cost. Will you consider joining us this year?

I am so excited to see what God is going to do in 2018!
